Creating a Class Account

1. Getting started
Point your web browser to https://www.gslis.utexas.edu/technology/accounts.html

2. Setting up a class account
Enter your name and your ID (please don't make anything up!).

Select "Special class account" from the dropdown list.

Enter the class name and number in the "Your name as you wish it to appear on our servers."

3. Rules for setting up a login name for the class:
The login name should start with lower case 'L'.

The complete class number should be entered without any dots or dashes.

If you have enough space (login name is limited to 8 characters), add the course instructors initials at the end.

For Example: Fran Miksa's class LIS 384K.8 (Organization of Materials 1) would have the login name "l384k8fm."

When you create a class account, you also create an email address for that account. Don't be afraid to use it.
You get 40mb of web space and 20mb of email space with the account.
Write down the login name and the password for your professor.
